The Big Help Trading-our shops

The Big Help Trading was established in 2015, and from the outset had two aims: to provide a way of raising funds to support the work of the Big Help Project, and to build strong links between the Big Help Project and the community it serves. The first retail outlet for the Big Help Trading was the community shop in Huyton, which opened in 2015. We now have a two more shops-Picton Road in Wavertree (furniture) and our Homes with Style store in Huyton. All of our retail outlets have a team made up of paid staff and volunteers.

The Big Help Project Community Shop-opened in August 2015 by M.P. for Knowsley the Rt. Hon. George Howarth, the then Mayoress of Knowsley Cllr Edna Finneran, and Leader of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council Andy Moorhead. The Community Shop sells quality preloved adults and children clothes, accessories, books, bric-a-brac and small electricals

Picton Road Furniture Shop-opened in 2016, this store sells quality pre-loved furniture and white goods, as well as a range of Community Repaint paint.

Homes with Style-opened in December 2016 by M.P. for Knowsley the Rt. Hon. George Howarth, Mayor of Knowsley Cllr Frank Walsh, Chief Executive of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council Mike Harden and Leader of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council Andy Moorhead. Homes with Style represents an exciting venture for the Big Help Trading, offering customers a new, ethical credit option to equip and furnish their home.

 

The Big Help Trading Co Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Big Help Project (Reg Charity No: 1141024). All profits generated by Big Help Trading are used to help tackle poverty in Knowsley and the surrounding area.
