Councillor Peter Mitchell

Peter has worked in the private sector for over 20 years, and was Finance Director, and then Managing Director, of a large multi-million-pound retail company.  A former Chair of North Liverpool primary care trust and of the Alt Valley Partnership Board, Peter was elected to Liverpool City Council in 2010 to represent Croxteth ward. He was appointed as Mayoral Lead for Parks and Open Spaces, in charge of all of Liverpool's Parks, in 2012. Peter is Chair of the Big Help Project and of Cobalt Housing.

Dr Barry Cooper, CEO

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Barry has vast experience in leadership, and of working in communities within deprived areas. He has worked as a church leader in various locations in Merseyside and beyond, and for Liverpool Council for Voluntary Services in Development role, prior to founding the Big Help Project.

Chris Butland, Operations Manager

Chris has worked in governance and management roles at a variety of not-for-profit organisations, including Leeds Beckett University and One Vision Housing. He is passionate about providing high quality services and people management. Chris has helped to lead a church plant in Liverpool.

Colette Goulding, Trading Manager for Big Help Trading

Colette has helped to set up and establish the organisation's three shops, and has a passion for providing high quality retail options which provide a source of sustainable income for charitable activity. Her previous experience includes working for major national companies, including Barclaycard.

Sue Torpey, Big Help Project Coordinator

Sue is a former school teacher with a vast amount of experience working with vulnerable children. Skilled in project coordination, she has helped oversee rapid growth of the Knowsley Foodbank, and ensured delivery of the key Emergency Support contract with Knowsley Council.
