The Big Help Project Community shop is the first of the Big Help Trading's retail outlets. It opened in August 2015 selling quality, 'pre-loved men's, women's' and children's clothing, as well as bric-a-brac, small electrical, books, DVDs and toys. All funds raised at the shop go towards supporting the work of the Big Help Project.
When we decided to open a community shop, we wanted it to be more than just a retail outlet. We were determined that it would become part of the fabric of the local community, and that people in the area would see it as a point of contact for the Big Help Project, and a way of finding out more about us and the services that we offer. Staff and volunteers at the Community are always happy to lend a listening ear to anyone who may need our help and can contact the office and refer clients to any of our services. The Community Shop also accepts donations, for the shop, and for the foodbank. In the nearly two years since opening, the Community Shop has become part-and-parcel of Huyton village, and has provided a strong foundation for the other retail enterprises that we have launched since then.
