The Big Help Project (Knowsley Foodbank) is moving to new premises in January, marking an end to over six years of residence in Kirkby.

From Monday 8th January 2018, the Big Help Project (Knowsley Foodbank) will be based at Link Road in Huyton. This is a major change for the organisation, who have been based at the Business Resource Centre in Kirkby since 2013. Our foodbank distribution centres remain unchanged. 

Here’s all the information you need about the change and what it will mean for our clients, friends and supporters across Knowsley. There is specific information for Jubilee Debt Advice Clients here. For clients wishing to book and appointment/make a referral for Working Futures/Next Steps, please call us on 0151 546 0470 for advice. Please note that there will be no appointments available for Working Futures/Next Steps until Monday 8th January 2018. Professionals who have made or intend to make a Baby Basics referral, please contact the Baby Basics team on 0151 546 0470 and they will advise you on how to request and collect a Moses Basket during the change in premises. 

When is the Big Help Project moving?

The Big Help Project will start moving premises in January, with the move being completed by January 5th. From Monday 8th January, all Big Help Project services will have their headquarters in Link Road, Huyton.

What is the new address?

The new address is: The Big Help Project, Link Road Depot, Link Road, Huyton Industrial Estate, Huyton, Merseyside L36 6AP

Will there be a new phone number?

Yes-the new phone number will be announced as soon as we know what it is. If you use the current number, there will be a recorded message with the details of the new number as soon as it becomes live. If you are having any problems contacting us please use the mobile number 07731 789794.

Will there be any changes to the services the Big Help Project offers?

No, there will be no change to any of the services that we offer. We may need to postpone office-based appointments during moving week 2nd-8th January.

What about the days and times for the foodbank centres?

There will be no change to the opening times and venues of the distribution centres-all clients will be able to redeem food vouchers in the usual way.

Will the website address change?

No, the website address will remain the same-www.big-help.info

What about Twitter and Facebook?

The Twitter and Facebook accounts will carry on as usual.

I want to post something to the Big Help Project-where do I send it to?

Please send all post to P.O. Box 135 Liverpool L32 9WX. Once the move is completed, from Monday 8th January, we can receive post at the new address. The P.O. Box will also remain in use and the address for the P.O. Box will be unchanged.

What about email?

All email addresses will remain unchanged. 

I want to donate food or items to the foodbank, Community Shops or Baby Basics-where do I take them?

  • For donations to Knowsley Foodbank-Before Friday 22nd December 2017, you can bring donations to the BRC as before. We are then closed until Tuesday 2nd January 2018. From then until Monday 15th January 2018  we are asking anyone who wishes to donate food to please keep hold of their donations, as we will be moving and we will need to transport and sort existing stock. We truly appreciate everyone's kindness, and we ask you bear with us during this time. We will welcome donations to our new office in Link Road from Monday 15th January 2018.
  • For donations to Baby Basics and the Community Shops-please bring any donations to the Community Shops. We can accept donation at our new premises from Monday 15th January 2018
  • For donations of furniture-Please note that we will be unable to collect items between Monday 2nd and Monday 15th January 2018, as all vans will be in use for the move. Collections will resume on Monday 15th January 2018.  Bookings can be taken from Tuesday 2nd January 2018, but no collections will be operating until Monday 15th January 2018. Please see our donate page for updated information about collection days and timescales.
